Who does the movie talk to? Since the beginning, we wanted to reach the teenagers. There was a moment in which we distributed the story to several teenagers and we listened to their opinion. When we finished the film, we called a few other young people. We were listening to what they wanted to say all the time. Doesn't the theme sound to be of the 90's? I am positive it isn't. We researched everything. The problem in the mental institutions is a national problem and an urgent matter. We can't just simply turn our backs to this. The conflict of generations is eternal. Our society is ever more closed and also needs to wake up so we won't end up with a no dialogue situation. Was it difficult to work with Rodrigo Santoro? I never even thought of another person. Paulo Autran told me to pay attention to him when Hilda Furacão went on air. When I saw him, I was impressed with his giving of himself to the role/character. I knew that Neto was him. And when we talked, Rodrigo was the one who asked me to work the character ahead of time. |
